Bash Box was created by us, Gary Boylan & Roisin O'Sullivan; a couple who love to cook and eat far-flung foods, but hate sourcing ingredients. We thought it would be fun to design ambitious dinner party menus full of rare ingredients, like fenugreek leaves, corn husks and hibiscus flowers, then deliver a how-to kit. People could have all the joy of cooking & eating great food without the slog.
We designed Bash Box around two central values: Supporting local industry, and keeping our environmental impact as low as possible. We work hard to keep our food miles low. We include only Irish meat in our kits, purchased exclusively from independent local butchers. Where possible, we use Irish fruit, vegetables and herbs too (seasonal veggies play a big part in our future plans).
Perhaps most importantly, we use only recyclable or compostable materials in our packaging. All of our plastics are plant-based and suitable for home composting.
Launched in January 2021, we're just getting started with our product line. In the future we'd like to have Bash Boxes available for every major food culture, with allergen-free, vegetarian and vegan options that don't feel like a compromise. We want Bash Boxes at every experience level, that enable even a novice chef to create better-than-restaurant-quality food at home.
We may even expand our deliveries beyond Dublin.
For now, we offer weekly deliveries in Dublin every Friday. Subscribe to our newsletter at the end of our homepage if you'd like news of new Bash Boxes or extended deliveries.
